4 Ways of Collagen Absorption You Should Know About – Before Taking Up On Ay Collagen Product

Linden Tyler once said: “Invest in your skin. It is going to represent you for a very long time’’, and I found the ‘invest’ part very interesting.

When I think about the inevitable ageing process I think COLLAGEN. Why? Because there are main 5 types of collagen and all 5 decreases from the age of 20:

  • Type I – makes up 90% of your body’s collagen. It provides structure to your skin, bones, tendons and ligaments.
  • Type II – found in elastic cartilage, which provides joint support.
  • Type III – found in muscles, arteries and organs.
  • Type IV – found in the layers of your skin.
  • Type V – found in the cornea of your eyes, some layers of skin, hair and tissue of the placenta.

Yes, we know that the holistic understanding of the ‘invest’ part actually refers to caring for your body from the inside out as well as your mental health (only positive vibes busy people!).

Given the Type I collagen mentioned above, I want to focus on the skin aspect in this post as highstreet products, so called ‘rich’ in collagen, are bursting like never before. With many buzzwords in the skincare industry and the need for a translator to figure out the list of ingredients on beauty products’ labels, it’s worth remembering that information  is only as reliable and accurate as the person making the content.

I put together my brand New FREEBIE guide that will WOW you: ‘4 ways of collagen absorption you should know about before taking up on any collagen product’. Number 4 is the most innovative, but hey, you don’t know what you don’t know, right? Continue reading and then follow the link at the end of this post.

Now, let me arm you with some easy to remember tips on collagen skincare products. Let’s dive in.

How To Quickly Navigate To The Truth?

Treating your skin with respect, meaning tailoring the care product to your specific skin type, condition, challenges and lifestyle, is a good first step.

You, busy and independent woman, don’t have to be a science dermatology beauty lab expert on high heels and get excited over a product that allegedly works miracles within 2 weeks. Get advice from a subject matter expert like a verified dermatologist or skin care brand that works closely with skin care professionals and can prove that they actually do.

Too Busy? Need Shortcuts? – I Have 2 Steps For You

Look at the product you hold in your hand and check:

1. Is the top ingredient featured in the product actually listed within the first 3-5 ingredients at the back? – No? Leave it!

Example: If your product advertises collagen but collagen is not listed within the first 3-5 ingredients; it means that its concentration (its presence within a product) is very little. If it’s not even listed then its concentration is closer to none. All skincare products’ ingredients are listed in descending order from greatest amount to least amount.

2. Always check product’s certifications for reassurance – Not shown? Move on to the next product.

Legitimate brands will always list certification as they pride themselves from putting customers’ needs first and to show that they invest in what they have to offer to you. Certifications and standards provide a guarantee to you that a product meets certain criteria for natural, organic and environmentally-friendly products and it’s safe for you to use, and targets your desired outcome.

I took the above photo from my collagen product as certifications speak more than any fancy words in ads. My 2 Steps approach steers my decision making for my and my family’s purchasing products. I’m happy to admit that I never went wrong with my decision and fully experience the benefits of my products.

One More Thing

Just because a product is expensive and widely advertised doesn’t mean it will be higher quality.

I hope that my 2 Steps guide will now help you to make good skin product buying decisions fast so that you can focus on the next important thing on your to-do list.
